Body Liberation Community Workshop Series: Dismantling Diet Culture & Decolonizing Our Bodies
Saturday March 7 @ 12pm CST

Join us for a grounded, 90-minute virtual workshop where we come together for learning, movement, nourishment, and community.

This workshop is led by trauma-informed personal trainer Ángel B. Casas (he/they) and Keʻalohi Naipo (she/her), a non-diet, HAES-aligned Registered Dietitian. Together, we create a supportive space centered on body liberation, nervous system care, and collective healing.

Through a blend of education, accessible movement, and a simple, neurodivergent-friendly cooking demonstration, we will explore how diet culture and other systems shape our relationships with our bodies and how we can begin to reconnect with more safety, agency, and trust.

This is not about fixing your body. It is about remembering that your body is not the problem.

What is the Body Liberation Community Workshop Series: Dismantling Diet Culture & Decolonizing Our Bodies

This is a 90-minute virtual community workshop centered on body liberation, nervous system care, and collective healing.

Each workshop brings together education, accessible movement, and simple, neurodivergent-friendly cooking to explore how diet culture and other systems shape our relationships with our bodies and how we can begin to reconnect with more safety, agency, and trust.

The workshops are facilitated by Ángel B. Casas (he/they), a trauma-informed personal trainer and coach, and Keʻalohi Naipo (she/her), a non-diet, HAES-aligned Registered Dietitian. Together, they create a supportive, non-judgmental space grounded in care, choice, and community.

No fitness or cooking experience is required. Participation is always optional, and you are invited to engage in whatever way feels most supportive for you.

Who is this workshop for?

This space is for anyone seeking a healing, anti-diet, and culturally rooted experience—no matter your fitness level, background, or relationship with food or movement. All bodies and identities are welcome.

What kind of movement will we do?

Àngel will guide us through joyful, high-energy, low-pressure movement inspired by global rhythms like Vallenato (Colombia), Cumbia (Mexico), Soca (Trinidad), and Brazilian Funk (Brazil). You’ll learn simple, follow-along steps with modifications offered for all levels. Come as you are—no dance experience needed!

We move to celebrate, not to perfect. ✨

Do I need to be fit or experienced?

Not at all. This workshop is intentionally designed for all levels and all bodies. We offer modifications throughout—your pace is the perfect pace.

What will we be cooking? What ingredients do I need to buy?

For Workshop #1, we’ll be making simple, flexible Chicken or Veggie Wraps together.

This recipe is intentionally:
• ADHD-friendly
• Low prep
• Customizable
• No perfection required

You can keep it plant-based, use leftover protein, or grab something pre-cooked. The goal is nourishment without overwhelm.

We recommend having:
• A pack of tortillas (flour, corn, or gluten-free — your choice)
• Cooked chicken, tofu, beans, or any protein you enjoy
• Pre-washed greens or shredded lettuce
• One or two easy toppings like:

Shredded cheese
Sliced avocado
Salsa
Hummus
Pre-cut veggies
Optional:
• Store-bought rotisserie chicken
• Pre-chopped veggies to reduce prep time
• A simple sauce you love

This is not about cooking something “perfect.”
It is about practicing choice, reducing pressure, and feeding yourself in a way that feels supportive.

Make it easy. Make it yours.
